Kings County’s own, The Brooklyn Circus (BKc), has done it—they’ve found the perfect balance between classic style and modern fashion. Oddly enough, I’ve been a fan of BKC’s founder, Ouigi Theodore a.k.a. “The Bearded Man” for some time now…I just didn’t know it.
From the inventive Goose Down Peacoat to the subtle genius behind the Tweed Scarf, each piece is uniquely designed to appreciate the old and new. Other pieces like the vintage cardigans (the beautiful vintage cardigans!), the varsity jackets and newsboy caps are reminiscent of early 20th century collegians—incorporate, however, elegant urbanism and the flare of a 21st century-tailored fit.
While the items may not be a priced for the tight-fisted (think less H&M and more RRL), those with a real appreciation for style should reconsider that next purchase of Prada or Gucci and spend their time and money having a fun day at the Circus.
Trust me, it’ll be worth every penny.
